The 2025 Ridgefield Garden Tour, Beyond the Garden Gate, Marks the First Such Event in 30 Years
Two Ridgefield organizations, whose goals for the town align perfectly, have come together to create a new June event that will treat guests to an insider’s view of seven of the town’s most beautiful private gardens, as well as celebrate one of the town’s most beautiful public gardens, at Ballard Park.
The Ridgefield Garden Club, founded in 1914, and the Ridgefield Historical Society, founded in 2001, both devote their energies to the town’s betterment and to connecting the town’s history to its present. Their collective ‘offspring,’ the Ridgefield Garden Tour, will debut in 2025, on Sunday, June 8.
The inaugural Ridgefield Garden Tour, Beyond the Garden Gate, is planned for the peak of seasonal blooms, featuring gardens of different sizes, styles and designs. While the homes that these gardens enhance will not be open to the public, each of the properties has a unique place in Ridgefield history, from the early 18th to the mid-20th Century.
The Spring Soiree on Saturday evening, June 7, will celebrate the debut of the tour with an evening of food and drink, music and flowers in yet another spectacular Ridgefield garden.
Out-of-town visitors (or Ridgefielders who’d like an in-town get-away) are invited to participate in the Ridgefield Garden Tour Weekend raffle: 100 tickets will be sold, with one prize winner who will enjoy two nights at the elegant Fountain Inn on Main Street (Friday and Saturday, June 6 and 7), a gift certificate to Bailey’s Backyard, a farm-to-table restaurant serving brunch, lunch and dinner; and two Saturday evening tickets to Waitress, the Musical, by A.C.T. of Ridgefield.
Tickets for the events and the raffle are available here.
